Shopping and Menu Planning

The easiest and most time saving way I find to do my shopping is to plan ahead.

I have a magnetic whiteboard on my fridge that is divided into days and shopping list.  As I run out of things I add them to the list on the fridge.

At the end of the week I go through my pantry to see what food I still have and place the name of the dishes I am going to make using those ingredients.  I then either go through my junk mail to see what is on special and decide on the menu I am going to plan for the week or fortnight or have a quick look through my cookbooks or just decide what sort of week I am going to have with work, children and running around and decide on some family favourites or quick and easy recipes..

If you can do fortnightly you are saving yourself time in the long run, if all you have to get at the shops is fruit and vegetables and for those of you who purchase milk and bread every day or two this is the only other things you will need to get.

SHOP ONLINE

I don't know how many of you shop online, but take my advise if you don't TRY IT.

Honestly, I do my shopping in 20 minutes while the kids are asleep.

I take the whiteboard off the fridge sit down at the computer and begin shopping. I have my list and menu so I know exactly what I need to buy and can wipe them off as I order them.

Delivery fee gets lower the more you buy.  I usually pay $5.00 as I shop fortnightly and spend $200.00 or a little more, and with Woolworths you get all the same specials that they have on that week.

They will either bring it right to your kitchen bench or leave at the door, whatever you prefer.

So my advise to you all, save yourself time and money (as you don't impulse buy) and give this a try.
